English Summary: Modern Minimalist Design at The Pavilia Bay Tsuen Wan
Project Overview
This case study features a compact unit at The Pavilia Bay in Tsuen Wan, designed by ACDesign in a modern minimalist language. The brief was to maximise storage and daylight while keeping a clean visual line. Three design anchors were established early: a geometric jigsaw storage wall, a micro-cement TV feature wall, and a black-framed glass partition for the study area.
Key Design Highlights
The custom geometric storage wall spans both living room and corridor, integrating display niches, hidden LED strips, and closed cabinets in a unified composition. An I-shaped open kitchen with quartz countertops and Bosch built-in appliances faces the living area, separated only by a low partition. The bathroom uses grey marble-pattern tiles to echo the living room palette.
Materials and Palette
Materials were limited to three families: micro-cement on feature walls, white lacquered panels on cabinetry, and light wood veneer for kitchen lower units and entry shelving. The flooring is 1200mm large-format light wood-grain tile, chosen for humidity resistance over real timber. Lighting was layered into ambient, functional, and decorative tiers, all wired for future smart home integration.
Custom Joinery Details
All joinery uses E0-grade boards with BLUM hardware. Pieces include the entry shoe cabinet, geometric living wall, kitchen upper and lower units, study desk, master bedroom soft headboard, bay window floating desk, and bathroom mirror cabinet. Factory pre-fabrication kept site tolerance within 2mm.
